Glossary

A

Aping v.
Buying fast, with little or no research. Usually right after launch or a big post.
ATH n.
All-time high. The highest market cap a coin has reached.

B

Bag n.
Your position in a coin. Holding bags usually means holding a loss.
Bonded adj.
A pump.fun coin that filled its bonding curve and moved to a real liquidity pool. See Bonding curve.
Bonding curve n.
The pricing formula a pump.fun coin trades on until it fills up and migrates to a real pool.
Bubble map n.
A visual of holders where connected wallets are drawn together. Good for spotting bundles.
Bundle n.
Several wallets buying in the same block as the launch, usually controlled by the dev.

C

CA n.
Contract address. The unique address of a token. Always copy it from a trusted source.
Cabal n.
A group of insiders who coordinate buys and sells. Often blamed, sometimes real.
Copy trading n.
Automatically mirroring another wallet's trades. Tracked wallets know this and sometimes exploit it.
CT n.
Crypto Twitter. Where most narratives start and most coins are shilled.
CTO n.
Community takeover. The dev left, holders took over the socials and kept the coin alive.

D

Degen n.
A trader who takes high-risk bets. In the trenches, everyone.
Dev n.
The wallet that created the coin. Not necessarily a developer of anything.
Dev sold phr.
The creator dumped their supply. Often the end of the chart.
DEX n.
Decentralized exchange. Where coins trade after they leave the bonding curve.
DexScreener n.
A popular site for charts and pair data across chains. Paid profile updates show up as a badge.
Diamond hands n.
Holding through big drops without selling. The opposite of paper hands.

E

Exit liquidity n.
The buyers that early holders sell into. If you are late, you might be it.

F

FUD n.
Fear, uncertainty and doubt. Negative talk about a coin, true or not.

G

Graduated adj.
Another word for bonded. See Bonded.

I

Initials n.
Your starting stake. "Take initials" means sell enough to get it back and ride the rest for free.
Insiders n.
Wallets that knew about a launch before the public. Terminals flag them in the holders tab.

J

Jeet n.
Someone who sells at the first sign of profit. Said with affection, usually.
Jito tip n.
A payment that sends your transaction through a block engine, often landing it faster.

K

KOL n.
Key opinion leader. An influencer whose posts move coins. Many are paid to post.

L

Liquidity n.
The SOL and tokens in a pool. More liquidity means each trade moves the price less.

M

Market cap n.
Price times total supply. The number trenchers use instead of price.
MEV n.
Value bots extract by reordering or wrapping your trades, for example with a sandwich.
Migration n.
The moment a bonded coin's liquidity moves from the curve to a DEX pool.

N

Narrative n.
The story a group of coins rides: AI agents, animals, a news event.

P

Paper hands n.
Selling at the first dip. The opposite of diamond hands.
Priority fee n.
An extra fee to get your Solana transaction processed sooner.
PumpSwap n.
pump.fun's own DEX, where most of its coins land after bonding.

R

Rug n.
When insiders dump or pull liquidity and the price collapses. Also used as a verb.

S

Sandwich n.
A bot buys right before you and sells right after you, taking the price difference.

Hope that a coin pumps hard. Also: buy now.
Serial launcher n.
A dev wallet that creates many coins, often to farm early buys and dump.
Slippage n.
How far the price can move before your trade fails. Too low fails, too high costs you.
Smart money n.
Wallets with a strong track record. Followed closely, sometimes too closely.
Sniper n.
A bot or trader buying in the first seconds of a launch.

T

Terminal n.
A trading site like Axiom, Photon, GMGN or BullX with charts, holders and one-click trades.
Trenches n.
The world of fresh, high-risk memecoin launches. Mostly on Solana, mostly on pump.fun.

V

Volume bot n.
A tool that buys and sells the same coin to fake activity and get on trending lists.

W

WAGMI phr.
We're all gonna make it. Said most loudly right before a dump.
